If you’re not eating the proper diet before and after you work out, you will not build muscle mass. Some good fuels include foods with whole grain carbohydrates, like whole-wheat toast and oatmeal. And you can gain protein by eating low fat yogurt and egg whites.

While you are working out, be sure to keep yourself well-hydrated with water. You need water for your body to use in all its metabolic processes. You should eat smaller meals through the day, rather than fewer, larger meals, with longer time periods in between meals. This will help your body to remain fueled up. Stay away from sugary foods, because these will interfere in your body’s natural glucose levels. Sugars may also affect your immune system.

For the fastest way to build muscle, keep safety in mind, eat a balanced diet, and give your muscles consistent work and rest, and you will find yourself with the body you want.
